No Such Thing? Learning Blues Guitar Free
Unless you have a good friend who
is willing to teach you without being paid, it is unlikely
that you will be able to learn the blues guitar for
free. There are some cases where an individual may already
be musically gifted and just need to have some background in
blues music and some tips on the differences in the types of
scales used by blues guitar players, but the majority of people
are not able to pick up blues guitar playing from mediocre
teachers, learning blues guitar free online.

A Multitude of Promises
There are many online blues guitar sites on the market today
all touting their teaching services, many of them offering
students to learn blues guitar for free. This is
encouraging to students who might be low on cash, especially
after going out to purchase a new guitar.

There are also sites that give a few lessons for free but
say that to learn all there is to know about blues guitar, and
then learning blues guitar from a DVD is the best way.
Unfortunately, many novice blues guitar players do not know the
questions to ask and get tricked by the false promises made on
the sites, wasting time and possibly money on materials that
are of little use for learning blues guitar.
There are some sites that are useful at the beginning and
allow the student to learn basic blues guitar for free.
Sometimes more advanced players will post videos online that
walk a novice player through how to hold the guitar and even
what some of the basic scales are. However, many of these
sites are not done by professional blues guitar players, and so
the information is often remedial at best.
Learning blues guitar for fee is usually a scam. Sites
promote their program as the best on the market and claim that
the student will be playing blues guitar within a few hours and
performing for audiences in no time at all. However,
blues guitar players know that to become an accomplished blues
guitar player, there are many hours of practice time, both
alone and in lessons, that are required to become accomplished
enough to play well in a band and in front of audiences.
Strong guitar programs, even those who allow students to
'learn' blues guitar for free, always have the student start
out with the basics of guitar playing, scales, and then move
into music theory and some specific scales that blues guitar
players use. Novice guitar players must practice these
scales until they become second nature, allowing them to
improvise using those notes.
